B – Be Prepared
In CFBISD, school starts on Monday, August 28. Make sure to check you school’s website for their complete event calendar.
As you can see, there is not much time before that first bell rings to start the new school year. Take advantage of your time now to get prepared for “Back to School 2017”.
The best thing you can do is visit your campus website and be on the lookout for special announcements or event dates to add to your smartphone calendar.
And please, please make sure to enroll and register your child online for the new school year. All students new and returning must do this. You can register online at www.enrollcfb.com
A – Add the CFB App to Your Smartphone
And speaking of calendar events in your cell, downloading CFBISD’s smartphone app would be a good idea too. It’s available in both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. You can download the app at www.cfbapp.com
CFBISD’s app has many great features. The official Carrollton-Farmers ISD app gives you a personalized window into what is happening at the district and at each one of our schools. Get the news and information that you care about directly inside CFBISD’s smartphone app.
Anyone with the app can: View district and school news, use the districts tip line, receive notifications from the district and your student’s schools, access the district directory, and display information personalized to your interests.
C – Call Your School if You Have Questions
All school principals and administrative assistants are back to work. If you have any questions about the new school year do not hesitate to call your child’s campus. Our staff is ready to answer your questions to make the 2017 – 2018 school year the best it can be.
Many of our schools are also offering open labs if you need help registering your student online. Make sure to call your school to see when the doors will be open to assist you. And feel free to call our help desk at 972-968-HELP if you are having difficulties with our online enrollment and registering system.
K – Kick Your Summer Habits to the Curb
It’s probably a good idea to start back now with your school year routines. Playing Pokemon Go until three in the morning is probably not a good idea at this point in the summer. Start now to train yourself and your children to wake-up early and be ready to get to school on time.
All campus bell schedules can be found online on our individual school websites. You will be able to know exactly when your child’s school starts in the morning. It is also a good idea to check your alarm batteries or turn up your alarm volume on your smartphone. There are only a few weeks left until school starts. Get prepared now.
T – Take a Look at Our Back to School Webpage
Did you know that CFBISD has a dedicated “Back to School” webpage to help you with the new school year? You can find the webpage at www.cfbisd.edu/back
The webpage is chock-full of great information you need to know to have a successful year. Everything from school supply list for each campus, updated bus routes, dress code checklists, and a school locator system can be found on the webpage. There is much more, so make sure to visit the page before the school year starts on August 28.
O – Online Enrollment
CFBISD is using online enrollment to facilitate the registration/enrollment process for ALL students, current and new to the district. By utilizing online enrollment, parents no longer need to wait in lines to fill out paper forms at the campus to enroll their child.
Additionally, online enrollment helps CFBISD reduce paper waste, while creating a convenient, fast, and accurate online enrollment experience at your fingertips.
It is very important that all students be registered using the online enrollment system at www.enrollcfb.com. All students must be registered to start the new school year. Please contact 972-968-HELP if you need any assistance enrolling online.
S – Slow Down in School Zones
With the school year about to start, it is good idea to remember that school zones around all area schools will be operational. Be aware of these zones and slow down when the lights are flashing. Not only is it a hefty fine if you get caught speeding in a Texas school zone, but slowing down protects all of our students who are walking and riding their bikes to school.
C – Connect with Old Friends
Starting the new school year can be rough for some students. Sometimes it is a good idea to connect with old school friends before the big day. Give your friends a call, or text to see if they are ready for the new school year.
Parents can arrange play dates with their younger students before August 28. This way their students can have a familiar face when they walk into their classroom on August 28. Having a buddy always make a scary situation better.
H – Help Your Neighbor
Do you have neighbors or friends who have students in CFBISD? Make sure to get in touch with them and see if they are okay to start the new school year. You might be ready to go, but many are not. Help thy neighbor.
Summer went very quickly for some people. Let them know about our Back to School website and our helpful informational videos we have been running on our social media pages. Even little tips can go a long way to help people start the new school year.
O – Open a Parent Self Serve Account

O – Organize Your Backpack
This is a very simple task, but ask yourself… do you even remember where your child’s backpack is located? Don’t scramble on the first day of school to find it. Locate your child’s backpack now, and then pack it with all of their school supplies they need to be successful.
Once their backpack is packed, put it by the front door as a reminder of ‘Back to School” on Monday, August 28.
