As a family in the Dallas area, you have many events and firework displays to choose from when celebrating the Fourth of July holiday. With so much going on, it is sometimes hard to choose which event to attend.
To make sure you get the most out of your Fourth of July celebration, School-a-Hoop and CFBISD have compiled a list of five popular events that put on great shows, and are close to home.
Here is our list of the five best places to celebrate Fourth of July in the DFW Metrolplex, including celebrations in Carrollton, Farmers Branch and Addison:
1. ADDISON KABOOM TOWN – CITY OF ADDISON
July 3, 2017 – 4:00 PM – Midnight
Location: Addison Circle Park, 4970 Addison Circle Drive, Addison, Texas 75001
For more than three decades, Addison Kaboom Town! has been named among the top fireworks shows in the country. The spectacular show was named the #2 Independence Day fireworks display by Yahoo.com, and is ranked as one of the top 10 fireworks displays in the country by USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, Travel + Leisure Magazine, and the American Pyrotechnic Association.
The celebration is city-wide, with a fantastic party in Addison Circle Park, watch parties at many of Addison’s 170+ restaurants, 22 hotels and the incredible Addison Airport Air Show which can be seen from anywhere in town! Dallas favorite, Emerald City, will be performing after the firework show.
2. FAIR PARK FOURTH – CITY OF DALLAS
July 4, 2017 – Noon – 10:00 PM
Location: 3750 The Midway, Dallas, TX 75215
Cost: Free, parking is $10 per vehicle
CELEBRATE AMERICA WITH A DAY OF FAMILY FUN IN FAIR PARK AT FAIR PARK FOURTH 2017.
The City of Dallas, Friends of Fair Park, State Fair of Texas, and WFAA-TV Channel 8 invite you to celebrate America with a day of family fun and fireworks at Fair Park Fourth. Enjoy entertainment, children’s activities, rides, games, food and drink, museums, historic art and architecture, and spectacular fireworks sponsored by Oncor.
Enjoy live music, water features and access to rides, games and concessions within the State Fair of Texas Midway, starting at noon on July fourth. Throughout the afternoon, music will be performed by the celebratory Razzmajazz Dixieland Band, and at 6 p.m. experience a concert by Vince Vance & the Valiants, near the fireworks viewing area on the Midway.
State Fair of Texas Midway $5 in advance, $7 at the gate (There will be two entrances to the Midway, one near the Children’s Aquarium and the other close to the Fair Park Coliseum) BUY ADVANCE TICKETS NOW
Enjoy approximately 32 rides and 14 games as well as 17 concession stands including Fletcher’s Corny Dogs. 12 noon-10 p.m. Costs for rides (including water features), games, and concessions will vary. All proceeds will be donated to the State Fair of Texas Youth Scholarship Program.
3. JULY 4 COMMUNITY FIREWORKS – CITY OF CARROLLTON
July 4, 2017 – 9:30 PM – 9:45 PM
Location: Josey Ranch Lake – 1700 Keller Springs Road
The City of Carrollton will host a 15-minute community fireworks display over Josey Ranch Lake. The display is scheduled to start after sunset, at approximately 9:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to view the display from their neighborhood, or from one of a few parking areas available. 4. RED, WHITE & BLUE: INDEPENDENCE DAY – CITY OF FARMERS BRANCH
July 3, 2017 – 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM
Location: Farmers Branch Historical Park – 2540 Farmers Branch Lane
In keeping with tradition, the community will come together in celebration on Monday, July 3 for the annual Farmers Branch Independence Day festivities.
Gates at the Farmers Branch Historical Park will open at 6:30 p.m. and admission is free. The popular, high energy band ‘Inside Out’ will return to Farmers Branch to provide music for the annual event. Additionally, there will be a free KidZone area, concessionaires selling festival favorites and more. The traditional, spectacular low-level fireworks show will be the evening’s finale, after dark.
Parking will be available at the Metrosquare Business Park, two blocks south of the Historical Park on Ford Road, with a free shuttle to the gate. No pets or alcohol, please and the gates will close when the park reaches capacity so early arrival is recommended.
5. FRISCO FREEDOM FEST – CITY OF FRISCO
July 4, 2017 – 4:00 PM – Fireworks End
Location: Simpson Plaza at City Hall – 6101 Frisco Square Blvd
Cost: Free; Soccer Game Requires a Ticket
Frisco Freedom Fest 2017 is Tuesday, July 4. Don’t miss your once-in-a-year chance to celebrate our nation’s birthday with fantastic food, great music and aaahhh-worthy fireworks! There will be a 5K race Monday night, July 3, and Freedom Fest on Tuesday, July 4, will include a festival in Frisco Square and a soccer game at Toyota Stadium, followed by a fireworks show.
Party in the Plaza begins at 4 p.m. and features a wide array of fun and exciting activities for families, or just about anyone who enjoys saluting independence by dancing in the streets with thousands of their closest friends and neighbors.
Children and families will head straight for the Children’s Expo. New this year: hamster ball races and multiple zip lines and Euro bungees! Our Children’s Expo also features a rock climbing wall and bounce house inflatables. Our plaza party also includes a Community Stage, featuring local entertainers, and Hometown Hero Exhibit, showcasing our police and fire departments.
If you get hungry, we’ve got you covered. The Taste of Frisco features fare from local food vendors.
