As a family in the DFW area, you have many events and firework displays to choose from when celebrating the Fourth of July holiday. With so much going on, it is sometimes hard to choose which event to attend.
To make sure you get the most out of your Fourth of July celebration, we have compiled a list of five popular events that put on great shows, and are close to home.
Here is our list of the five best places to celebrate Fourth of July in the DFW Metrolplex, including celebrations in Carrollton, Farmers Branch and Addison.
1. KaboomTown – City of Addison
5 PM to Midnight
Location: Addison Circle Park, 4970 Addison Circle Drive, Addison, Texas 75001
Cost: Free
They say everything is bigger and better in Texas, and never is that truer than when Addison, Texas hosts its legendary Addison KaboomTown fireworks display. Every July 3rd a half-million guests from across the nation come to celebrate America’s Independence in a style that is uniquely Addison.
The celebration is city-wide, with a fantastic party in Addison Circle Park, watch parties at many of Addison’s 170+ restaurants, 22 hotels and the incredible Addison Airport Air Show which can be seen from anywhere in town!
The 30-minute long fireworks show is among the best in the nation, and is simulcast each year on 100.3 JACK-FM. Afterwards, while area traffic calms, attendees are invited to enjoy an after-party in Addison Circle Park featuring Emerald City.
Concessions are available in the park, serving both food and beverages. Guests are encouraged to leave coolers and bags at home to expedite entry into the park. Those choosing to bring coolers must limit the size to no larger than 16”X20”X12”. Absolutely no alcohol can be brought into or out of Addison Circle Park.
2. Fair Park Fourth – City of Dallas
Noon to 10 PM
Location: 3750 The Midway, Dallas, TX 75215
Cost: Free, parking is $5
The City of Dallas, Friends of Fair Park, the State Fair of Texas and WFAA-TV (Channel 8) invite you to celebrate America with a day of family fun at the City of Dallas’ official Independence Day celebration, Fair Park Fourth.
Enjoy live music, water features and access to rides, games and concessions within the State Fair of Texas Midway, starting at noon on July fourth. Throughout the afternoon, music will be performed by the celebratory Razzmajazz Dixieland Band, and at 7 p.m. experience a tribute to The Beatles with music from A Hard Night’s Day, near the fireworks viewing area on the Midway.
Admission to the Midway is $5, or complimentary to those who participate in the Dallas Park and Recreation’s “Dallas 7/4” race that morning. Approximately 30 exhilarating rides will be available on the Midway. Ride, game and concession costs will vary. All proceeds from the Midway during Fair Park Fourth will be donated to the State Fair of Texas Youth Scholarship Program
3. July 4th Fireworks – City of Carrollton
9:30 Pm to 9:45 PM
Location: Josey Ranch Lake – 1700 Keller Springs Road
Cost: Free
The City of Carrollton will host a 15-minute community fireworks display over Josey Ranch Lake. The display is scheduled to start after sunset, at approximately 9:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to view the display from their neighborhood, or from one of a few parking areas available. 4. Independence Day Celebration – City of Farmers Branch

Location: Farmers Branch Historical Park – 2540 Farmers Branch Lane
Cost: Free
Farmers Branch always provides one of the very few, low-level firework shows in Texas! A spectacular show was accompanied by the Inside Out Band on stage, a FREE KidZone area, concessionaire’s selling festival favorites and more! You don’t want to miss this yearly tradition of Patriotism, Family, and Fun.
Parking is located at Metro Square Business Park, 12300 Ford Road, Farmers Branch, TX 75234. Shuttles will pick up and drop off at the Farmers Branch Historical Park Entrance.
5. Frisco Freedom Fest – City of Frisco
4:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Location: Simpson Plaza at City Hall – 6101 Frisco Square Blvd.
Cost: Free; Soccer Game Requires a Ticket
Frisco Freedom Fest 2015 is Saturday, July 4. Don’t miss your once-in-a-year chance to celebrate our nation’s birthday with fantastic food, great music and aaahhh-worthy fireworks!
Party in the Plaza features a wide array of fun and exciting activities for families, or just about anyone who enjoys saluting independence by dancing in the streets with thousands of their closest friends and neighbors.
Children and families will head straight for the Children’s Expo. New this year: hamster ball races and multiple zip lines and Euro bungees! Our Children’s Expo also features a rock climbing wall and bounce house inflatables. Our plaza party includes a Community Stage, featuring local entertainers, and a Hometown Hero Exhibit, showcasing our police and fire departments.
The Taste of Frisco returns with Frisco restaurants serving some of their most popular menu items. The variety of fare is sure to please every palette. While you’re in the area, visit all the great businesses taking part in our Vendor Village.
