In CFBISD, We’re launching many new signature programs that are STELLAR. And that’s exactly what we are calling them… STELLAR!
Stellar Signature Programs offer CFBISD students a vast array of individualized opportunities uniquely designed to fit student needs. Our Stellar Signature Programs provide a comprehensive list of Elementary, Middle and High School choices for our students.
Of course, we already have some awesome STELLAR programs in place… Like Dual Language and our innovative high school academies. But over the next several years, we will be launching new STELLAR programs at all of our campuses in CFBISD.
CFBISD is announcing TWO new STELLAR Signature Programs for the 2018-2019 School Year…
Blair, Country Place, Landry and Kent Elementary will be adding the Imagine Fine Arts Academy on their campuses. Your Students might want to be a dancer, a musician, an actor, or a singer – The Imagine Fine Arts Academy will make this happen. You will have many, many fine arts opportunities like theatre, art, music and dance. It is an exciting opportunity.
Blanton, Freeman, McLaughlin Strickland, Rainwater, and Riverchase will be adding the Spark STEM Academy on their campuses. Doctors, scientists, or engineers are just some of the many career paths you can take with STEM. In this academy you will be coding, doing science challenges, doing experiments and more. It will be incredible times at these campuses.
1. The Imagine Fine Arts Academy in CFBISD
The Imagine Fine Arts is a creative Elementary Academy launching in the 2018-2019 school year at Blair Elementary, Country Place Elementary, Kent Elementary and Landry Elementary. Daily students will participate in Fine Arts activities including art, music, theater and dance.
In addition, students can participate and perform in ensembles including:
- Art
- Choir
- Dance
- Drum
- Guitar
- Handbell
- Orff
- Piano
- Recorder
- Steel Drum
- Theatre

The Fine Arts have been shown to increase critical thinking and raise grades. CFBISD has a rich and successful history in the Fine Arts! For the past 10 years CFBISD is ranked as one of the best communities for fine arts education in the State of Texas according to the NAMM Foundation.
2. The Spark STEM Academy in CFBISD
The CFBISD STEM program engages students in developing solutions to real world problems and challenges through engineering and technological design combined with scientific and mathematical inquiry. Students develop a set of critical thinking, reasoning and creative skills that grow through research and collaborative teamwork.
The Spark STEM Academies will launch for the 2018-2019 school year at Blanton, Freeman, Rainwater, Riverchase, and McLaughlin Strickland Elementary schools. Every day students will participate in STEM challenges in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics focusing on collaboration, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

How Do I Apply… Am I Eligible
Now, you might be saying – but I don’t go to one of those schools that will have an academy. Don’t worry… We have a plan for you.
CFBISD will allow transfers into these schools for our STELLAR signature programs. You can transfer if you are a CFBISD student or a student in a charter school or a student in our open enrollment zones.
In fact – the application into these programs is already open. Over the next few months – we will be branding all of our current programs under the STELLAR name – so watch out for more information at www.cfbstellar.com.
All of our students are going to be able to learn and explore in fun new ways as you prepare for your future. It is truly an exciting time to be in CFBISD!
